Your Life's Outcomes are Attached to Your Belief System
Philippians 4:8
“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, think about such things.”
You experience life based on what you prime your mind to believe. If you already expect good to happen, then that's what will happen. You can only reach as far as you allow your mind to. You prime your mind to believe what it thinks by what you accept as your reality. Science has shown that positive thinking increases endorphins, which in turn increase feelings of optimism. Being optimistic can change the trajectory of your life. It can transform how you handle stress, view failures, and bounce back from setbacks.
If you believe that good things will happen to you, good things will happen; if you believe that bad things will happen to you, then bad things will happen. Proverbs 23:7 says, “ For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Your brain looks for proof of what you think about in your daily life, little indicators to add to the belief system that it's creating. It can take a small situation and make it bigger. If you think only of negative outcomes, you train your brain to look for negatives that will be amplified. Why not think positively instead? Amplify that.
You have to make a thoughtful choice to believe something positive will be the outcome regardless of the situation. Even if you can only find a tiny bit of positive, hold onto that and focus on it. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Take captive of your thoughts and make sure you're building a positive belief system.
